
Zoubair Khouaja is currently a senior researcher at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague, and a lecturer at various European universities. He also serves as the Director of the Social Sciences Lab MENA in Estonia.Zoubair holds a Ph.D. in sovereign debt management from Hassan I University in Morocco, a Master’s degree in public administration from the same university, and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco. His primary research focuses on law and constitutional issues in the MENA region.
With over 12 years of experience in the non-governmental sector, Zoubair has collaborated with both national and international organizations on projects related to democratic transition, human rights, political participation, and security. He is an elected Board Member of the Administration in the Middle East and Public Policy Association (AMEPPA) in Cairo, a member of the Network of Experts on Women’s Empowerment at the Council of Europe in Lisbon, and a member of the Arab Organization for Constitutional Law in Tunisia. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Arab Islamic Center for Human Rights in Geneva and serves on the scientific committee of the Journal of Professional Studies at Marywood University, USA. Zoubair is also a jurist with A.H.A Law and Legal Consultation Group in Kuwait. Zoubair has led various initiatives, including the A’ridaty Law Project, funded by the U.S. Department of State. He has received multiple grants and awards, such as an Erasmus scholarship for his Ph.D. at the University of Cadiz, Spain, and a European Union scholarship for his Master’s studies at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Being fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish, and French, Zoubair brings a multilingual and global perspective to his work.
