In this study, HIV-1, HIV-2, and human viperin (CVN) viral loads in acutely infected HIV-1- and HIV-2-seropositive individuals and healthy controls were measured by a real-time RT-PCR assay. The results obtained in the current study indicate that total nucleic acid extraction based on an automated bench-top easyMAG nucleic acid isolation device is a faster and more sensitive method than traditional phenol-chloroform method. The detection limits for HIV-1 and HIV-2 RNA were 100 and 100 viral RNA copies per ml, respectively. In summary, the study indicates that automated extraction of viral RNA from whole blood samples using an easyMAG nucleic acid isolation device and specific real-time RT-PCR assays improved the sensitivity of detection over the phenol-chloroform method.

Introduction

The three main components of Syntax2D are the analysis tools: Isovist
visualization, axial maps, and visibility graphs, and the Visualization

Isovist visualization is a space syntax based method for visualizing the urban system and showing the locations of people, goods, and services.
An isovist is a measure of the space-time separability (as well as our ability to distinguish one place from another) of a spatial system.
In particular, isovists can be used to show areas of high and low visitation.
Syntax2D is a hierarchical visualization tool;
an isovist is built from axial maps.
An axial map is a map showing high, moderate, and low density areas of space-time, and the corresponding isovist is the inter-visitation intervals among these areas of space-time.

Visualization with Syntax2D includes not only isovists, but also axial maps and visibility graphs.
