AutoCAD Crack + [32|64bit] [Latest-2022]
Autodesk, Inc. was founded in 1982 by John Walker and Rick Bayless, who had been working as architects at Computer Design Corporation (CDC). The first version of AutoCAD, initially released for the Apple II, was released in December 1982.
The popularization of the Mac, the Apple II, and the graphic display device for the Macintosh, and the commercialization of Windows for the IBM-compatible PC brought AutoCAD into a broader user base. The original price of the application was $2,395, but the average price of today’s version (AutoCAD 2020, released in 2011) is $2,984, and the price is usually higher than $2,000 for a standalone version.
In 1995, AutoCAD 2000 (also released in 1995) was introduced, with a goal of making the software more stable, easier to use and more powerful. The 1998 release of AutoCAD 2000 introduced a new type of update known as a Major Update that was more substantial than a patch (or bugfix) update. These updates were managed by the Computer Support Group, a new Autodesk customer service organization. AutoCAD 2000 also added the ability to render surface 3D objects on the screen, a feature that had been available in other CAD packages, such as UGent BIM 360. The newest version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD 20, was introduced in late 2011.
The most common CAD functions include the following:
• Plotting a path on a map to represent the route of a route of an airfield.
• Creating a document, including printing and viewing.
• Creating and editing a drawing, including drawing a point, line, polyline, arc, circle, ellipse, polyline, spline, and table.
• Drawing multi-line elements such as circles, ellipses, lines, and polygons.
• Creating sheets, including copying, changing formats, and sizing.
• Data management and archiving, including tag management, input and output, and referencing.
• Document management, including database management and views of drawings.
• Assembling drawings and annotating plans and elevations.
• Using parts and features, including dimensions, a floor plan, and a color-coded outline of the building.
• Using 2D drawings and 2D drawings imported into 3D
Before AutoCAD V15 (2014), it used Open Office XML as its drawing format, which was based on the XML Draw specification (XML DRAW) developed in the 1990s by the AutoCAD developers. After AutoCAD V15, Microsoft Office Open XML (OOXML) was introduced and AutoCAD switched to using that. AutoCAD 2016 and newer use the OOXML standard.
A developer forum is available, through which anyone with AutoCAD can ask questions and read answers. There is an answer tracker, where AutoCAD users can report problems with the software or have questions answered by Autodesk engineers.
Latest version of AutoCAD is also available for use on Linux.
Supported operating systems
The following is a list of supported operating systems:
Autodesk also developed the following (for which support is discontinued as of AutoCAD 2018):
AutoCAD uses several different types of input devices.
The mouse is used to control the cursor and to draw lines and shapes. The right mouse button is used to select items. The left mouse button is used to move the cursor and change the drawing view. The keyboard may be used to change the text size and color and to enter text. For commands that require special keys, a keyboard extension may be plugged into the keyboard port. For example, the F key switches between text and graphic displays, the Enter key is the default “accept” key, and the Shift+Tab key moves the cursor backwards. AutoCAD has a special drawing view called “Palette” that is accessed through the View menu. Palette allows the user to choose a color for all displayed objects, change the colors of selected objects, or select predefined colors for specific object types. It is also possible to apply colored patterns to certain objects. AutoCAD allows several styles to be applied to different objects in a drawing. They are named Property Sets. They allow the properties of an object to be specified separately for use in different parts of a drawing. For example, it is possible to create a certain wall that is 10 feet high and 16 inches thick and another that is 8 feet high and 20 inches thick.
When an object is “activated” the user can select or deselect it by means of “hot keys.” Hot keys are standard keyboard shortcuts (in conjunction with mouse-clicks). Hot keys are available for most commands,
