The Generosity of the Heart
Hey there! I’m back for another load of “teasers” for a new pattern I’ve just completed. I’m thinking this may be my next project to take to the Knit-at-Hoboken if I haven’t already, which is how I ended up with this.
For those who aren’t familiar with Knit-at-Hoboken, they are open to the public and are run out of the Hilton Hotel on the lower east side of Manhattan. You can sign up for as many classes as you want and they usually cost about $25 for a half-day and $35 for a full day. They have all kinds of great classes from clothing and knitting basics to creative writing and other crafts. If you haven’t been to one of these classes, I highly recommend it! They are a great source of inspiration and I always leave feeling a little bit smarter.
I chose this pattern because I love the style and I had a stash of this yarn. I’m also a sucker for lattices, and what better way to incorporate one than into a shawl? I started this shawl when we were planning to go on a cruise to Alaska next summer and I ended up not being able to. Whoops! That’s the way life goes, but you know what? There’s nothing like a shawl for keeping you warm.

It is pretty large, but it’s a lot of fun to make! The main pattern is done in the middle of the shawl and then the lattice is attached to the middle and to the sides of the main pattern. The pattern itself is an easy and comfortable knit. It’s a great project for first time knitters to learn how to knit a lace shawl.

This capability enables new ways of doing business and it’s a huge step forward for the CAD industry, enabling manufacturing companies to create a common model so they can collaborate on the design and manufacture of 3D models.
